Father Abraham, officially known as Shijomon Zacharias MSFS, belongs to the Congregation of Missionaries of St Francis De Sales. Fr. Abraham was born on 22nd March 1977, at Kootickal, Kerala State, India.
After the completion of his secondary school tenure, he joined the said congregation at Ettumanoor. He went on to complete his Novitiate, and then his Bachelor of Philosophy and Bachelor of Arts at Bangalore University. After the completion his Bachelor of Theology programme at St Peter’s Pontifical Institute, Bangalore, Fr. Abraham was ordained a Priest on 12th February 2004 by Bishop Joseph Pallickaparambil, Bishop of Palai.
Father Abraham was then appointed as the assistant Parish Priest at Sacred Heart Palasa in the state of Andhra Pradesh, as well as on the staff of SFS School Kassibugga. After one year he was asked to work in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and he was appointed as the assistant Parish Priest of the South Oropouche Parish in 2005 (during the same time he looked after Sacred Heart Church in La Brea).
Father Abraham went on to become the Parish Priest of La Brea in 2012, and stayed there until 2015. He was transferred as the Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church, Princes Town, in January 2015, and in same year, later went back to India.
Upon returning to India Father Abraham was appointed on the staff of SFS School Gajuwaka, and after one year, he was appointed as the Warden and Financial Administrator of St Aloysius Anglo Indian High School, Visakhapatnam for a term of three years.
After the completion of his term in 2019 he was appointed as the Financial Administrator of Suvidya College, the Major seminary of MSFS Congregation for Philosophy and Bachelor of Arts in Bangalore.
Following one term at this post, he was asked to return to Trinidad and Tobago, and upon his arrival in September 2022, he was appointed as the Parish Priest of Our Lady of Montserrat Church, Tortuga.
